Jesus the Messiah: Promise of the Old Testament Reaching Fulfilment – Part 3/3

By Pastor Jon

It is the day before Christmas 2018 in Aotearoa, which is New Zealand.

If you are reading these words on that day, chances are – in a providential sense – you are either very organised or rebelling against the hectic expectations of this seasonal commercialised divergence. Congratulations. That could be characterised as your own personal revolution, or, just a lack of real organisation. Ah well. Good while it lasted. You’re probably right about… now… running on end-of-year fumes, so best keep it together like my wrapping-presents-skills. Or not. They’re pretty ordinary. Did someone mention Kindle? Nuff said!

I am doing my best to follow an organisational theme, so I am beginning these words on the Sunday afternoon of the 23rd.

I had a look of the before-talked-about-file for offering number three, and it is some 30 pages, when the verses are typed-out in full. Therefore, wisdom says we should pass like a fasting man at a buffet, which can also further encourage direct interaction with Scripture, as the reader has to play their own game of verse-search. Can I suggest you actually pull-out an incarnated version? Just did. I know you saw what I did there?! Indeed. Theologeek. Good to work the creases of God’s Special Revelation with your own digits between the sheets.

I should probably explain a little about this angle in Postage Numero III.

While Parts One and Two were simply about the Old Testament predictive text on the Messiah’s First Coming, today’s is about prediction in the Older Testament, and then fulfilment in the Newer, with a little beyond.

I think this should prove distinctively helpful.

Now for a picture of the evidence locker where these have been recorded over the period. Such a pwetty coloured file.

In terms of layout, I will sectionalise under the various relative headings, but as indicated, only provide scriptural references.

I do want both of us, in this digital engagement, to be finished before New Year.

We also have a Birthday to culturally celebrate.

I hope this journey underscores the veracity or trustworthiness of the Scriptures. 1500-odd years of Special Revelation. 40-some different human authors. The unity-in-diversity-with-clarity attests to both the Divine superintendence and the successful transmission.

While a shorter-term hope is that many will be edified, with even more time and space to dwell on these truths through the end of 2018, this resource can be further maximised at any time of the year. There is also a cultural apologetic, especially as you consider the lack of manuscript attention for other ancient documents.

And, No, we don’t know the exact day of Jesus’s actual birth with stop-watch time-and-date precision. But, this is not really the point, because the point of Messiah’s life is not that we would know the exact day on His human certificate, but that His historically-accepted-arrival would transform every day of our very lives, because of His death-to-life. Therefore, may the Incarnation’s point be ever forceful through this season; through this period, when we consider our year, and the One that is coming before.

2019 is a huge year for all those involved with RELOVUTIONARY.

We hope to start something that will, change-for-God-glorifying-good the conversation, about the Gospel conversion project inside New Zealand, which will then flow into a movement proving this Gospel can surmount whatever earthly obstacles, because it is ultimately Divine.

And we most definitely plan for this platform to be part of enabling the journey from this time forward.

We are, without doubt, in the safe hands of the only true and living God, in the knowledge that Jesus will build His Church, which means the whatever-this-will-be, is entirely according to His will.

On that high note, there is – Much Love – from the Team at RELOVUTIONARY!

We will see you very soon!

Like in a couple-a-days!

For the Fame of His Name
